Backlog and stories
Write user stories, send them to agents, and follow each one from draft to merge.
Each user story becomes a lane that keeps its brief, context, agent activity, review notes, and final decision, from first draft to merge.
The board
The backlog is a board with one column per stage:
| Column | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Backlog | Draft user stories |
| Agent Queue | Stories ready for agents |
| In Progress | Stories an agent works on, each in its own worktree |
| In Review | Work waiting for your review |
| Done | Merged user stories |
| Discarded | Rejected or cancelled stories |
You can also drag a story from one column to another: it runs the same action as the button.
Write a story
Choose New User Story, in the toolbar or at the bottom of the Backlog column. A story has a title and a description in Markdown: describe the user story, the expected behavior, and the acceptance criteria. Enhance asks the AI to improve the description.
The description's toolbar also sets the story's run mode and its model.
Not sure how to split the work? Plan Mode, in the toolbar, lets you describe what you need: your agent proposes user stories that you review and add to the backlog.
Send it to an agent
Choose Save as Draft to keep the story in the backlog, or Send to Dev Agent to queue it. Up to three agents work at the same time, each on its own story; the other stories wait in Agent Queue (use Dequeue to take one back). Only one Direct story runs at a time.
While an agent works, the story's tabs show its progress:
- User Story: the brief and the agent's activity;
- Preview: the running app and its Run logs;
- Code: the worktree's Files, the Diff, and a Terminal.
To stop an agent, open Stop Agent on the story: Pause, Pause & Give Feedback, Stop & Send Back to Backlog, or Discard Worktree. A paused story shows Unpause Agent.
When the agent hands the work back, the story moves to In Review. See Review and merge.
Specialist agents
One lead agent stays responsible for each story. When you ask for it, in the story or in a comment, the lead agent can consult a specialist, who advises without editing:
- Codebase Analyst: finds the right context.
- Story Analyst: tightens the brief.
- Frontend Design Specialist: refines the interface.
- Test & Verification Analyst: plans the proof.
- Risk & Review Analyst: challenges merge readiness.
The story's activity shows Consulted and the specialist's name; open it to read the exchange.
Quick changes: Chat
For a quick fix or a question about the code, skip the backlog: open Chat in the sidebar and ask for a focused code change.
