# Linux

> Set up Docker for Blame's previews and project services, and find the logs on Linux.

Page: https://blame.so/docs/troubleshooting/linux

On Linux, worktrees stay native, and previews and project services run in Docker on your machine. Blame needs Docker Engine with the Compose plugin, on x86_64.

## "Missing development requirements"

Blame uses Docker Engine and Docker Compose from your system. Install Docker Engine with the Docker Compose plugin ([Docker's instructions](https://docs.docker.com/engine/install/)), start it, then choose **Check again**.

### "Docker Engine is not running"

Start Docker Engine, then check again.

### "Docker Engine is running, but Blame cannot access its socket"

Add your user to the `docker` group, or set up rootless Docker, then check again. Docker's [post-installation steps](https://docs.docker.com/engine/install/linux-postinstall/) explain both.

## The AppImage does not start

Make it executable first:

```bash
chmod +x blame-linux-x86_64.AppImage && ./blame-linux-x86_64.AppImage
```

On Arch Linux, use the AppImage until the AUR package is published.

## Logs

- The app's log: `~/.config/dev.blame.desktop/logs/blame-live.log`
- Each story's setup, agent, and merge logs: `.blame/logs/` in its worktree
- A story's preview: its **Run logs**

{/* TODO(Raphael): add the Linux issues people actually hit (distributions, Wayland, Docker Desktop instead of Docker Engine...), once you have them. */}
